Does the OpenXR only work if you bought MSFS from steam? When I opened the OpenXR MSFS doesn't pop up for me.

Quick question are there any settings outside of the sim (NVIDIA Control Panel) that may help reduce CPU Latency because it seems to be stuck around the 18-20 ms range in the sim and even when both TLOD and OLOD are set to 10, CPU latency only dips to about 16-17 ms. i tried for Pimax Crystal Light. Why you just give 10sec to adjust ? Beside the function keys does not work for any reason (maybe somebody can tell me why) it was nnot helpful for the Crystal Light at all. :-(

I picked up this headset yesterday secondhand for a really good price as i also wanted eye tracking to take advantage of Foliated Rendering. Caveat- i only use PCVR for sim racing rather than my monitor for a bit of variety. My sim rig is hooked up to 4090 + 7800x3D with a 57 inch Double 4K (7680x2160) ultra wide display. I had low expectations after owning a HTC Vive Elite XR, Quest 3 and PSVR2 which i think is not good enough for Sim Racing, just too many compromises. It took me 45mins to install and dial everything in and once up and running, my jaw dropped when I fired up ACC and Auromobilista 2. I finally realised where PCVR is going for sim racing. I wish it was cheaper so more people can experience this. Back on topic, to my surprise, the clarity is soooooo much better than my previous headsets (HTC vive Elite XR, Quest 3) and I am possibly one of the worst offenders who chases frames and ultra high res graphics. I know newer or upcoming PCVR headsets are going above 5760x2880 and a massive FOV, even with this headset, it kills my 4090 as there so much to render. so your PC rig matters and you either need to use upscaling (DLSS or FSR) or compromise on graphics quality). Battery issue that everyone complains about, i followed an advise from a German YT guy who suggested to plug a USB cable into a fast charge adapter using the huddle usb c port above the left lens, damn it works, my battery hasn’t drained at all after a 90min session and still with 5 bars. I think the new Pimax Crystal Light will be a great purchase as long as you have the right PC setup and know your way around settings in Pimax Play. Will try Open Composite / XR next. if that works, i will offload this headset and get the newer version without the battery for better ergonomics.

WARNING June 03, 2024 ...I tried Map Enhancement (finally got it to work nicely), and I must say the Google Server does display higher & better graphics (some areas are correct color, other areas are too green or yellow), but the one thing I did notice is the graphics are mostly in the realm of AUGUST/SEPT displaying burnt/dry up grass & wilted vegetation i.e. trees, I do not believe using this app applies current seasonal graphics. IMO & honestly, it's still a waste of realism in time, but it does make FS2020 better than using BING. Update: June 09, 2024, ...Another thing to mention, when user stops using this app, it will mess up FS2020 cache (yes, even after deleting photogrammetry cache and the Nvidia DX Cache - if your card is a Nvidia), it will require several restarts, because when you start FS2020 without Map Enhancement - aircraft and scenery WILL fall out of the sky and there is a HUGE delay in correcting this (will need another restart) when going back to normal. Update: June 18, 2024, - FS2020 had an UPDATE 1.37.19.0 today (Marketplace advertising it will donate to USO if you purchase software from them), this UPDATE will DELETE all your prior purchases i.e. aircrafts, liveries, sceneries and airports. BE ADVISED! Do NOT use Map Enhancement, if you do and after using and you do not like, uninstalling it WILL mess up DS2020.

I used this video and understand how the settings work. Since this video I did not fly at all and yesterday I load the msfs and in the airport which I had 57 fps now it so 40 41 max, and I that it limited by main thread reducing graphic setting it gives max 4-5 fps. What could happened? 🤔

Hello, When i first launched up the program for MSFS my camera was in the middle of the plane for the b787 -9. Is there anyway to move it closer to the cockpit by a lot? i tried using the z- axis to move me forward but it basically did nothing. And feet track 2.0 enhanced brings me into the cockpit but I am not able to move my camera in that setting.

This review seems a little bias, I believe at 1 point you even referred to pimax as "we"😂😂😂😂😂. You can find cheaper base stations as you can use 1.0 or 2.0. Giving the software edge to Pimax is crazy when every other boot up you gotta wait 30 minutes and still have to reset program on start up everything.

Hi. Love your vids. I just came across this. My problem with the H jet is I am sitting to far back in VR. I tried the pilot camera zoom at 100% but it is still to far back. What setting in the config file will fix this

Thanks 2020 fs'ers, I endorse this video it explains clearly the relationship between cpu and gpu. I'll just add that if like mine your monitor's refresh rate is limited to 60Hz any frames above this will be wasted so you may as well swap extra fps performance for extra visual quality, however I suggest wait till flying in normal conditions before final adjustment (2 or 3 frames over the 60 is generally perfect).

Thanks for that treasure...by far, is the best video tutorial in youtube, to optimize the MFS 2020. In my case, using the Fenix A320, i went from 25-30fps with Dx11 to 35-45fps with Dx12, with 25ms of main thread and Gpu latency. My Pc spec: 16Gb RAM, RTX3060 and AMD Ryzen 5600X 6-Core Processor 3.70 GHz. Very Thankful.

Stopped watching as soon as you said you weren't going to test turbulence. MSFS built-in weather already looks good, but is known for letting you fly through thunderstorms and clouds with absolute impunity. I'm looking for which add-on best simulates the dangerous consequences that were left out of vanilla MSFS.
